The Punk Bike Enduro

15hours of driving, a blizzard and winding directionless roads lead me into Pittsburgh for the 18th edition of the Punk Bike Enduro. Brauer, Sov and I came in from MPLS and met up with Complaina from the the West Coast at DirtRag headquarters, a few rounds of pinball, some Thai food and then we were off to the Moose lodge for some down home style wrastlin.

With stars like "Ali Kieda" and "8x10" you know the level of professionalism is gonna be high. I had trouble following some of the plot but "La Nuche" did win his title defense, so that was good.
But I am not sure the new commisoner will provide the level of integrity the KSWA is known for, only time will tell.

Then back to Casa Maurice, more pinball then a 2:00am apointment with my sleeping bag.

"Up and Adam; adam Ant", time to ride bikes. I was in no mood for this. We hit Taco Bell for a home cooked meal and made our way to the Dorseyville Fire department to meet about 175 other freezing maniacs. The weather wasn't actually that bad, but I complain a lot.

The crowd was sporting more derialeurs than I had seen in a while. Then is was riding all day long. roots... mud... roots... up... stream crossing... Down... log pile... ROOT! MUD! SMASH! SPALSH, Whooooo, whew. You get the idea. It was a lot of fun. Way too much time to futz around with my camera so I didn't get a ton of pictures, but there will be a new Goathork Photo Gallery later today.

I gotta let you know that Pittsburgh is my hometown and I love going back, especially with good friends and the opportunity to ride some trails. Comin back for the Punkbike was awesome, I got to catch up with some old friends, some I haven't seen for 7 or 8 years. It was really awesome. I also got to spend some time at Kraynick's bike shop, any chance to see Gerry is a chance worth taking.

This is all you get for now... stay tuned.
